She took her rucksack from her shoulders and sat on the
ground with crossed legs. She opened the sack and took out a blue cloth. She
unfolded the cloth and put it on the ground. Then she took a crystal ball from
the rucksack and put it on the blue cloth.
"Ha, you are going to crystal ball with your mother", Neston chuckled. Norma smiled and gave Neston a sidelong glance but then
focused all her attention on the crystal ball. She held her hands above it and said in a clear voice.
"Mum, there, mum steady, my crystal ball is all ready."
The crystal ball light up and immediately
Norma's mother's
face appeared in it.
"Hello darling", she said cheerfully. "How nice of you to crystal-ball me. Where are you now?" Norma waved to her mother and answered:
"Hi mum, we are in Giant-Country, just on the border of Wizard-County." Desirée (that is the name of Norma's mother) nodded
approvingly.
"You sure have travelled fast." Norma
gestured at the giants and chuckled.
"We did have some help, you know. These giants have brought us to the border." The two giants
looked at Desirée in the crystal ball.
"Good day ma'am", the giant with the green beret stammered. The giant with the blue beret waved at Desirée. They were clearly very impressed
by the crystal ball.
